Meet the professional coaches dedicated to elevating your table tennis skills in Sydney CBD
Dr Marc Dussault
Table Tennis and Squash Coach | Resident Sports Psychology and Peak Performance Specialist
|
Hitting his first squash ball at age 37, with only 5 years of playing experience and less than a total of 10 tournaments under his belt, Marc used Deliberate Practice Principles (DPP) to reach the top ranks of Masters squash within 3 years.
His expertise and knowledge are based in scientific principles that explore the cutting edge of mental toughness research so Junior, Elite and High Performance players can get the edge that is so important at the elite and professional levels of sports performance. In addition to extensive academic research on sports psychology, Marc has visited the infamous Nick Bolletieri Academy in Bradenton, Florida, now called the IMG Academy and the Michael Johnson Performance Centre in Dallas, Texas to find out what the very best Academies are doing to breed the next generation of champions. Marc picked up a table tennis racket during the pandemic and has since been busy replicating his DPP approach to table tennis leveraging advanced technologies. These include an AI smart racket, a AI-based target feedback and a ball tracking system to track speed and spin that are synchronised with a high-speed ball-feeding robot. |

Geoff Chan
Elite Player & Coach
|
Geoff has a strong table tennis background, having represented Australia on the Junior National Team and competed at the World Youth Championships in the early to mid-2000s. By age 13, he had reached ACT Men's Open #1, the youngest to achieve this at the time.
After returning to the sport following a 20+ year break, Geoff brings a unique understanding of adult learning. He rebuilt his game using the modern plastic ball and can specialise in long pimples and anti-spin material, winning bronze in Singles at the Australian National Veterans Championships and finishing that year ranked #3 in Over 30s. Geoff coaches both double inverted and pimpled/anti-spin styles, teaching players how to play with and against all major rubber types. He is also highly experienced in blade and rubber selection, helping players choose equipment that best suits their playing style and development goals. His comprehensive approach to coaching extends beyond technical skills to include match strategy, mental preparation, and equipment optimisation. Geoff's personal experience adapting to rule changes and modern equipment gives him unique insights into helping players navigate the evolving landscape of table tennis. Whether you're a traditional inverted rubber player or exploring alternative playing styles, Geoff's expertise ensures you develop a well-rounded game suited to competitive success in today's environment. |
